Berkeley Springs Cross Country shines at Paul Clovis Invitational

The Berkeley Springs Indians Cross Country teams traveled to Hampshire High School this past Saturday, September 28, to compete in the Paul Clovis Invitational. The event saw strong performances from both the boys’ and girls’ teams, with two standout runners earning top 15 finishes.

In the boys’ race, sophomore LJ Sealey led the way for the Indians, securing 10th place with an impressive time of 19:25.

Following him, Josh Walls clocked in at 20:40 to finish 25th, while Jay Nazelrod crossed the line in 47th place with a time of Bella Shoemaker 22:39. Liam Stewart (57th, 23:38), Haven Ailor (65th, 24:57), Jake Risinger (67th, 25:14) and Zander Clark (75th, 29:21) rounded out the Berkeley Springs boys’ squad, who finished in ninth place overall out of 11 teams.

On the girls’ side, Bella Shoemaker continued her strong season with a 15th-place finish, posting a time of 25:13. Close behind her was Kayleigh Coulter, who claimed 17th with a time of 25:36. Charity Brown (33rd, 28:20) and Eva Sealey (49th, 34:17) completed the effort for the girls’ team, which demonstrated grit and determination throughout the race.
