As the Berkeley Springs Indians prepare for the 2024 season, there is a renewed sense of purpose and determination within the team. After a rigorous offseason filled with lifting and conditioning, the Indians are poised to make strides on both sides of the ball.

Offense

The offense will be led by returning quarterback Aiden Cain, who is expected to be the cornerstone of a more dynamic and balanced attack.

The offensive line, featuring four returning starters— Remington Sites at left tackle, Brain Ailor at left guard, Krystian Norris at right guard and Seth Armentrout at right tackle—should provide a solid foundation for both the running and passing games.

With Adam Rippeon returning at tight end and Kyle Moore as a key wide re- ceiver, the Indians are set to exploit defenses with their improved aerial assault.

Defense

Defensively, the Indians made notable progress last year by reducing their points allowed per game by eight. In 2024, they aim to tighten the screws even further. The defensive line will be anchored by returning starters Norris at defensive end and the formidable duo of Armentrout and Sites at nose guard. Steve Aulabaugh will lead the charge from the inside line- backer position, bringing experience and leadership to the heart of the defense. The secondary will be bolstered by Moore, a returning free safety, who will play a crucial role in limiting big plays.

Special Teams

Special teams will feature DJ Hinckle, who returns as both kicker and punter, providing consistency and reliability in the kicking game. Cain will also serve as the holder, adding another layer of familiarity and precision to the unit.

Outlook

With a senior-laden defensive line, experienced skill players on offense and a rigorous offseason under their belts, the Berkeley Springs Indians are set to embark on “A Season with a Reason.” The team is determined to improve upon last year’s record and make a statement on the field in 2024.

The Indians will open their 2024 season up this Friday, August 30 at Morgan Field at 7 p.m. against the Class A Petersburg Vikings.
