A worker on the U.S. 522 bypass construction site at Winchester Grade Road was granted a personal safety order, or PSO, on July 19 against a man who habitually conducted video surveillance in close proximity of the site during working hours, causing the worker to change his shift schedule.
According to a criminal complaint filed in Morgan County Magistrate Court by Lt. S.A. Place with Morgan County Sheriff’s Office, the protective order is to remain in place for one year, during which time the subject is not allowed to access firearms.
Lieutenant Place removed several firearms from the subject’s person and vehicle upon serving the protective order.
The subject, identified as Justin B. Coyle, 38, of unknown address, continued his surveillance on multiple occasions, including on August 15 from nearby Berkeley Baptist Church where he was asked to leave by the preacher.
According to police, Coyle posted his videos on social media. In one post, he could be seen twirling a revolver, bragging it is a .357 magnum.
Coyle was arrested by warrant on August 18. He was charged with stalking in violation of a personal safety order.
He remains incarcerated at Eastern Regional Jail awaiting a hearing in the matter.
