David Ray Ambrose II
1971-2024
David Ray Ambrose II, of Gaithersburg, Md., peacefully passed away on July 14, 2024 surrounded by his loving family.
David was born on January 5, 1971 in Winchester, Va., and lived his formative years in Martinsburg, W.Va., graduating from Martinsburg High School in 1989 then attending Shepherd University.
After college, David moved to Gaithersburg, Md., where he married Jennifer and started his long career working in the new home building industry. David worked most recently with Sandy Spring Builders of Bethesda, Md.
David’s first passion was his children, family and friends.
He is survived by his precious children Reagan, Logan and Laci and former wife and friend, Jennifer Ambrose. He was the loving son of David Ray Ambrose (Carol) of Berkeley Springs, W.Va., and Deborah Carlomany, of Largo, Fla., and loving brother to Stephanie Feltner of Largo, Fla., and Kellon (Zinnaeah) Ambrose of Jacksonville, Fla.; loving uncle to Jordan, Jaxon and Ellis and loving friend Kerri Conrad of Charles Town, W.Va.
David left a legacy of love for sports with his children, his friends and former players. He absolutely loved coaching sports from baseball and basketball to volleyball. His passion and enthusiasm could be seen with each and every play he coached. He could always be seen wearing swag from his West Virginia Mountaineers, Baltimore Orioles, Pittsburgh Steelers, Florida State Seminoles, Quince Orchard Cougars and the Washington Capitals. Not only was David an avid sports fan as a coach and spectator but he was an avid participant from golf to volleyball to working out in his spare time.
Funeral services were held on Monday, July 22, 2024 at 4 p.m., at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Gaithersburg.
