Berkeley Springs Tennis preview

The 2024 spring tennis season is in full swing for the Berkeley Springs Indians boys and girls program. Second year head coach Randy Beal and assistant Amanda Henry are looking forward to this season with the Tribe.

The Indians lost a slew of players who were also state qualifiers in Cardin Beal, Brandon Pindell and Corey Verkouteren. On the girl’ s side the Lady Indians lost seniors Emma Christie, Brin Dudash and Cadence Trantor. Several other players opted not to return to the program this spring.

Returning for the Indians are two state qualifiers Justin Brinegar (senior and captain) and sophomore Brody Beal. Sophomores Landon Litten and Elijah Stevens are look-

ing to crack the top six qualified players along with Andrew Bland (sophomore), Conner Havermale (sophomore), Braden Brinegar (freshman) and Kyle Bland (freshman).

Returning for the Lady Indians are Lilly Morgan (senior and captain), Georgia Powell (sophomore), Alaina Buell (sophomore), Emiliee Fleece (freshman), Jade Miller (freshman) and Chloe Jackson (freshman).

This will be a bit of a rebuilding year with a very young team for both programs. Overall, the team is primed and ready for some good competition this season,” stated Coach Beal.

Berkeley Springs will kick off their season on Wednesday, March 13 with a home match against Moorefield.
