James E. “Jim” Brown

1951-2023

James Ezra “Jim” Brown, 72, of Romney, W.Va., died on Friday, October 27, 2023 at his home.

Jim was born on May 5, 1951, in Hancock, Md., to the late Ezra G. and Emma Smith Brown.

Jim was a Vietnam Veteran serving in the United States Army, and served as a K-9 Officer for the ATF & Chief of Police in Berkeley Springs, W.Va.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing, watching westerns and being a proud foster father. Jim loved his family dearly especially his grandchildren in which they saw him as a hero and a legend.

Surviving is a daughter: Deannette Niedzielski (Ed) of Kyle, Texas; a son: Joshua Brown; five brothers: Odis, Tom, James Lynn, Tony & Bryon; four sisters: Darlene, Betty, Holly & Angie; nine grandchildren: Justin, EJ, Jordan, Jesse, Desiree, Trey, Shawn, Eddy & Eli; and seven great-grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by two brothers: George & Leonard; and a sister: Nancy.

A celebration of Jim’s life will be held at his home, 78 Rosewood Ln., Romney, WV 26757, on Thursday, November 2, 2023 at 3 p.m. There will be a time to share stories and memories.
