The fourth Berkeley Springs Athletic Boosters Miss Indian contest had three participants this year. Seniors Stephanie Briscoe, Ocean Clatterbuck and Amelia Riggleman. All three girls worked from May 23 to August 23 raising funds with various fundraising activities.
The 2022 Miss Indian Jazmine Briscoe was on hand to crown the new Miss Indian before the kick-off against Greencastle, Pa.
Ocean Clatterbuck was crowned the 2023 Miss Indian by raising over $8,123. Clatterbuck will receive a $1,500 scholarship, parking pass for the school year, a lifetime sports pass for BSHS as well as other gifts.
Clatterbuck along with Briscoe and Riggleman raised almost $15,000 this year. Briscoe and Riggleman will each receive a $200 scholarship.
The Miss Indian is a scholarship program that the contestants spend several months raising as much money as they can and the one who raises the most money is crowned Miss Indian and receives a scholarship, lifetime sports pass to BSHS sports and other prizes. This is open to all upcoming seniors the summer before senior year. The grand total raised for BSHS Athletic Boosters will go to needed upgrades for BSHS athletics.
