he Morgan Arts Council in Berkeley Springs, WV , continues to present free Friday Night and Saturday Afternoon concerts.
The Friday Night Concert will be held August 11 at 7pm at the Ice House in Berkeley Springs with The Fly Birds. The Fly Birds are an award winning musical embodiment of Alternative Bluegrass & Appalachia based out of Winchester, Virginia. They’ve migrated the music industry for seven years, their voices and melodies soaring to new heights together. This unique and original band is comprised of Elizabeth Baker on banjo, Mary Dunlap on bass, Sarah Twigg on guitar and Crystal Shipley on fiddle. They released their first full length original album “The Band is Causing Problems” in 2020 and just released their second album “The Band is Playing Covers” in 2023. To- gether they make a memorable sound certain to make you tap your feet and sing along! Doors open at 6pm.
The Saturday Afternoon Concert will be held August 12 at the Berkeley Springs State Park at 5:30 p.m. with Brendan James. James is an American Singer-Songwriter in the pop/folk genre. He has collaborated or toured with John Mayer, John Legend, Cat Stevens, Carly Simon, Keb Mo and Andy Grammar. His songs have been placed in over 15 major television shows and films worldwide.
This program is presented with financial assistance from the West Virginia Department of Arts, Culture and History, and the National Endowment for the Arts, with approval from the West Virginia Commission on the Arts, and local hotel/motel taxes.
