The People’s Choice award for the 2023 Morgan County Photo Contest goes to Cindy Stotler for her photo, “Watermelon pickin’ time.”
In social media voting over 10 days, the wide-eyed watermelon picker pulled in 128 votes to become the official People’s Choice winner.
Gail Roy’s photo of three reclining horses, called “Perfect Row” came in second with 76 votes.
In a tie for third place were Dena Kerns’ photo “Fifth Generation Farmer in Training” and Sarah Miller’s rainbow over bypass construction, called “The Sacred and The Profane.” Each got 56 votes. All photos are still visible on the Messenger’s Facebook page.
Readers and fans of The Morgan Messenger were appreciative of all the high-quality photos that were submitted to this year’s contest. The annual photo contest is in its second decade — we lost track of the years.
