What’s going on for the 4th of July?

Fireworks in Berkeley Springs

Free public fireworks will be on display this Sunday, July 2 at Widmyer Elementary in Berkeley Springs starting at 9 p.m.

Travel Berkeley Springs, with funding from the Morgan County Commission, presents the annual fireworks event.

A note for those who will attend: parking at the school area is limited. The public is encouraged to carpool or park in the nearby area and walk to the viewing area. Bring a blanket or chair.

The Morgan County Sheriff’s Department will be handling traffic flow around the event. They remind the public that vehicles will only be able to take a right turn out of Myers Road and Berkmore Place after the fireworks. Plan your route accordingly.

Bethel Church festival

On Tuesday, July 4, Bethel United Methodist Church in Paw Paw will host a picnic and festival with music by Ben Townsend, The Community Choir and others. Food and drink will be sold by the church, with proceeds being donated to community groups. A yard sale and auction are also part of the festival.

Bethel United Methodist Church is located at the intersection of Bethel Road and Spring Gap Road in Paw Paw.

Cacapon State Park will feature a concert of patriotic and Americana music starting at 4 p.m. on Tuesday, July 4. Doug and Darinda Sherbert will perform outside on the North Lodge Patio. The public is welcome at the free event, and should bring a blanket or lawn chairs.
