1954-2023

Marsha Dawn Waugh, 69, of Berkeley Springs, W.Va., passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, June 4, 2023 with her beloved sons at her bedside.

She was born January 31, 1954, in Martinsburg, W.Va. Her parents, the late Bernard Mack Kesecker, Sr. and Ethel Lorena Barnhart Kesecker, predeceased her.

Marsha’s life centered around her family, her church and her many friends.

A graduate of King High School in Tampa, Fla., she worked recently in the billing department of the Tri-State Community Health Center.

She was a member of the Faith In God Chapel in Berkeley Springs, where she taught Sunday School.

Marsha’s true joy and fulfillment came from being a housekeeper and raising five sons. Later, she took great joy in becoming a grandmother. She enjoyed cooking, playing puzzles, going to the beach with her family, reading her Bible and taking notes and keeping a journal.

She is survived at home by her loving husband, Randy Lee Waugh, with whom she would have celebrated their 50th Wedding Anniversary this fall. Randy and Marsha were blessed with five sons: Joshua Daniel and his spouse, Donna, of Davidson, N.C.; Jason Nathanael and his wife, Jenny, of Lusby, Md.; Jacob Lee and his fiancé, Allison, of Berkeley Springs; Randy Josiah and his wife, Heather, of Winchester, Va.; and Samuel Eli, of Berkeley Springs, W.Va. Also surviving are her five grandchildren, Alexzander, Haylee, Aubree, Kennedy and Morgan; her sisters, Susan Lorena Rickard, Donna Renee Kesecker and Lorie Michelle Kesecker; one brother, Bernard Mack “Bernie” Kesecker, Jr.; and many nieces, nephews and long-time friends.

Three brothers, Dennis Wade Kesecker, Brian Dale Kesecker, Sr., and Timothy Scott Kesecker predeceased her.

The family will receive friends from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Friday, June 16, at Helsley Johnson Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 95 Union Street, Berkeley Springs, W.Va. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Saturday, June 17, 2023 at the funeral home. Pastors Ken Dyar and David Kerns will officiate. Burial will follow at Spohrs Crossroads Cemetery, Route 9, Berkeley Springs.
