This past week two Berk ley Springs Lady Indians softball players earned their first all-state honors. Both players had a phenomenal season at the plate and in the field for the Lady Indians softball team who finished the season 16-15.
Sophomore Alaira Harrington was named second team all-state as a utility player. Harrington played in all 31 games for Berkeley Springs and batted .538 in 93 at bats. Harrington scored 25 runs, 30 RBI’ s, 50 singles, 16 doubles, one triple and cranked three homeruns. In the pitching circle Harrington went 9-6, with 49 strikeouts and an ERA of 5.23.
Junior Allison Gray, who just recently committed to Division II Shepherd University, played in 30 games this season. Gray batted .471 in 87 at bats with 46 runs, 42 RBI’s, 41 singles, eight doubles, five triples and smacked eight homeruns for the Lady Indians. In the field Gray had a fielding percentage of .942, with 47 putouts and two assists.
