Christie, Henry, Morgan, Dudash, Beal & Brinegar capture PVC Tennis Championships

This past Friday, April 21 the Berkeley Springs High School tennis teams traveled to Moorefield for the 2023 Potomac Valley Conference Championships (PVC). It seems that year after year Berkeley Springs has some magic during the PVC tournament and their players find ways to capture PVC titles. This season is not different as Berkeley Springs had six PVC champions.

Earning doubles championships were Emma Christie and Truly Henry in the #1 girl’s doubles match. Christie and Henry defeated Keyser 8-1.

On the boys’ side Cardin Beal and Justin Brinegar who took an 8-1 win over Moore- field in the #1 boy’s doubles match.

Picking up individual PVC titles were the following. Lilly Morgan who won a 7-4 tiebreaker over Keyser in #3 girls singles. Bryn Dudash picked up a 9-7 win over Keyser in the #4 girls singles. On the boys’ side Cardin Beal picked up a 9-7 win over Moorefield in the #2 boys singles. Justin Brinegar picked up an 8-2 win over Moorefield in the #3 boys singles.

Finishing as PVC runners- up for Berkeley Springs were the following. #2 girl’s doubles team of Lilly Morgan and Bryn Dudash, #3 boys’ doubles team of Jake Shekey and Brody Beal, #1 singles Emma Christie, #2 singles Truly Henry and #4 boys singles Corey Verkouteren. 

Overall, as a team both of the teams finished in second place.

On Saturday the Tribe held their Senior Appreciation Day and recognized their six seniors — Emma Christie, Cardin Beal, Bryn Dudash, Brandon Pindell, Corey Verkouteren and Kaydence Trantor.
