Indians shut out Hancock 10-0

Last Monday, April 3 the Berkeley Springs Indians baseball team was back in action as they hosted the Hancock Panthers at Morgan Field. The Tribe did not waste any time with the visitors from Maryland and jumped out to a 5-0 lead after the first inning.

Berkeley Springs stretched the lead to 8-0 with three runs in the bottom of the second inning. The Indians tacked on additional runs in the bottom of the third and fourth inning to take the 10-0 win over the Panthers.

Offensively, the Indians were led by Chance Swink (two singles and two runs), Reagan Johnson (single), Cole Oursler (single and RBI), Caleb Stotler (double and run), Kyle Rankin (single and RBI), Devon Faith (run), Riley Albanese (RBI), Garrett Stotler (double and two RBI’s) and Isaiah Hutchinson (run).

Chance Swink picked up the win on the mound going three innings and striking out three. Reagan Johnson (two strikeouts) and Caleb Stotler each worked an inning on the mound as well.

Garrett Stotler slides into home base on Monday, April 3, when the Indians hosted the Hancock Panthers.

On Wednesday, April 5 the Indians traveled to Hedgesville for a game with the Class AAA Eagles Hedgesville jumped out to a 6-0 lead after the first inning and from there cruised to a 13-3 win over Berkeley Springs.

The Indians were led by Chance Swink (two singles and run), Reagan Johnson (two singles and run), Cole Oursler (RBI), Kyle Rankin (single and RBI), Devon Faith (run) and Landon Peck (two singles and RBI).

Up next for Berkeley Springs (2-5) is an away contest on Monday, April 10 at Hampshire starting at 7 p.m. Then on Tuesday, April 11 the Indians will host Keyser at 7 p.m.
