Nita Mae Jamison
Nita Mae Jamison, age 88, of Berkeley Springs, W.Va., died on Tuesday, March 14, 2023 at Stonerise Berkeley Springs.
Born March 16, 1934 in Cumberland, Md., she was the daughter of the late Samuel Blakely and Edna Northcraft Lyons.
She was a member of First United Methodist Church.
Nita Mae was a graduate of Paw Paw High School.
She worked as a dental assistant/secretary with Dr. Swagger and Dr. Leslie’s dental offices for over 30 years.
Nita Mae was a member of Alderton-Dawson American Legion Ladies Auxiliary Unit #60 in Berkeley Springs and in past years a member of Berkeley Springs Volunteer Company Ladies Auxiliary.
Nita enjoyed reading, going to the beach and raising her children and grandchildren.
Nita Mae is survived by her children, Kathy Kay Brake and her husband, Phil of Elkins, W.Va., John Wendell Jamison and his wife, Cindy Lue and Suzann Michelle Stevens and her fiancé Steve Dick all of Berkeley Springs, nine grandchildren, Mike Jamison, Zebadiah Unger, Preston Robert Jamison, Shauni Redick, Trevor William Daniel Jamison, Samuel Brake, Remington Stevens, Payton Stevens and Michael Harbaugh, 12 great-grandchildren, Kennedi Unger, Korbyn Unger, Riley Unger, Hannah Unger, Ella Unger, Mia Perry, Carsyn Brake, Timber Brake, Eli Brake, Tinsley Brake, Miya Brake and Colt Stevens.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Wendell Oliver Jamison on October 9, 2004 and her daughter, Lu Ann Jamison on November 17, 2022.
Funeral services were conducted at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, March 21, 2023 at Helsley-Johnson Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 95 Union Street, Berkeley Springs, WV. Pastor Josh Rider. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery.
The family received friends from 4-8 p.m. on Monday, March 20, 2023 at the funeral home.
