Last Tuesday, February 7 the Paw Paw Pirates varsity basketball team hosted Timber Ridge (Va.) at the Pirate Gym. The Pirates were looking for win #12 on the season.
In the first quarter Paw Paw jumped out to a 21-5 lead. In the second quarter the Pirates pushed the lead to 34-15 at the half. In the third quarter Paw Paw opened its offense up more to take a 60- 17 advantage. The final quarter saw the Pirates wrap up the win by the score of 75-24.
Paw Paw was led by Donovan Tanouye (22 points, 10 rebounds and 7 assists), Dalton Kasekamp (16 points and 17 rebounds), Greyson Corbett (8 points), Tyler McGraw (7 points), Conner Williams (6 points), Taylor Carder (6 points), RJ Ryan (4 points), Priscella Corbin (3 points), Dakota McDonald (1 point) and Dre Heath (1 point).
On Friday, February 10, the Pirates hit the road for a contest at East Hardy. The hometown Cougars came out ready to play and ran by Paw Paw by the score of 95-49.
Paw Paw was led by Tanouye (13 points and 8 assists), Corbett (13 points), Kasekamp (9 points), McGraw (5 points), Dalton Ginivan (4 points), Carder (1 point), Heath (2 points) and Williams (1 point).
