Lady Indians pick up road win at Hancock

The Berkeley Springs Lady Indians basketball team went 1-1 on the week with a home loss and a road win.

On Wednesday, February 1, the Lady Indians hosted the Hampshire Trojans. Hampshire jumped out to a 11-2 lead after the first quar- ter. From there the Trojans cruised to a 40-10 win over Berkeley Springs.

The Lady Indians were led by Emma Widmeyer (6 points), Jazmine Briscoe (2 points) and Grace Risinger (2 points).

On Friday, February 3, the Lady Indians headed up 522 across the Potomac River Bridge for a contest at Hancock High School. Berkeley Springs jumped out to an 13-7 first quarter lead.

In the second quarter the Lady Indians used a 20-10 run to take a 37-17 halftime lead. In the third quarter the Lady Indians kept the scoring and pressure up to take a 47- 20 lead. In the final quarter the Lady Indians put the game away to wrap up the 65-26 win.

Berkeley Springs was led by Emma Widmeyer (20 points), Grace Risinger (15 points), Jazmine Briscoe (10 points), Maddie Close (9 points), Tenacious Ray (8 points), Madison Daniels (2 points) and Melissa Seabright (1 point).
