Paw Paw takes wins over Hancock and Timber Ridge

The red-hot Paw Paw Pirates ran their record to 9-4 on the season with two wins this past week. Both wins came on the road as the Pirates used balanced offense and defense to put the clamps on both teams.

On Tuesday, January 17 the Pirates traveled to Hancock, to take on the Hancock Panthers. In a game that went back and forth between both teams it was the Pirates who held on for the 72-67 win.

Paw Paw was led by six players who all scored in double digits. Tyler McGraw (14 points), Taylor Carder (12 points), Conner Williams (12 points), Greyson Corbett (12 points), Dalton

Kasekamp (11 points and 10 rebounds) and Donovan Tanouye (11 points, 10 steals, and 5 assists).

On Thursday, January 19 the Pirates traveled into Virginia to play Timber Ridge. Paw Paw put the game away in the first quarter as they raced out to a 24-0 lead. At the end of the second quarter the Pirates took a 35- 11 halftime lead. In the third quarter Paw Paw increased their lead to 49-20 advantage. The final quarter saw Paw Paw wrapped up the game by the score of 58-26.

Paw Paw was led by Tanouye (17 points), Kasekamp (9 points), Mc- Graw (7 points), Corbett (6 points), Williams (5 points), Dreden Heath (5 points), Dal- ton Ginivan (5 points) and RJ Ryan (4 points).

Paw Paw will travel to Hyndman this Tuesday, January 24 for a 6 p.m. tip-off. Then on Saturday, January 28 the Pirates will travel to Monterey, Va., to take on the Highland School.
