Constance Jane “Connie” Quarantillo, age 83, of Berkeley Springs, W.Va., died on Thursday, December 29, 2022 at War Memorial Hospital Extended Care Facility.

Born February 13, 1939 in Pittsburgh, Pa., she was the daughter of the late John Albert and Catherine Marie Wilson MacCarthy.

She was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church. Constance earned her Bachelor’s Degree in nursing and worked as a health nurse with Cape May County Health Department in New Jersey and a registered nurse at Georgetown University. She was a member of the Foxglove Garden Club. Connie enjoyed sewing and loved gardening in her patch of lady slippers.

She is survived by her children, Dr. Edward Paul Quarantillo III and his wife Pam of Berkeley Springs and John Anthony “Jack” Quarantillo and his wife Missy of Montgomery Village, Md., five grandchildren, Nathan Quarantillo, Matthew Quarantillo, Emily Quarantillo, Michael Quarantillo, Amanda Quarantillo and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Ned John MacCarthy.

Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, January 4, 2023 at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, 67 Liberty Street, Berkeley Springs, with Father Mikee Lecias as celebrant. Burial will be in Greenwood Grove Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday, January 3, 2023 at Helsley-Johnson Funeral Home & Cremation Center, where there will be a rosary service recited at 7 p.m.
