Paw Paw Basketball earns split for the week

The Paw Paw High School boys’ basketball team opened up their 2022-2023 season with a pair of games. The Pi- rates hosted the Union Tigers and Hancock Panthers to the friendly confines of the Paw Paw gym.

On December 7, the Han- cock Panthers came to town and was able to lock down a 68-58 win over Paw Paw. Despite a monster game from Donovan Tanouye (31 points, 8 rebounds and 3 steals) and Dalton Kasekamp (12 points and 15 rebounds) the Pirates still lost to Hancock 68-58.

Also scoring for Paw Paw were Conner Williams (3 points), Greyson Corbett (4 points and 12 rebounds), RJ Ryan (1 point), Dalton Ginavin (1 point and 7 re- bounds), Tyler McGraw (2 points and 14 rebounds) and Dre Heath (2 points and 6 re- bounds).

On December 9, the Union Tigers visited Paw Paw for another varsity contest. This time around the Pirates were ready to play. Paw Paw had four players score in double digits as they picked up the 58-43 win over the Tigers.

Leading the Pirates were Donovan Tanouye (19 points and 7 assists), Conner Williams (10 points), Greyson Corbett (6 points and 12 rebounds), Dalton Kasekamp (10 points and 6 rebounds), RJ Ryan (1 point) and Dalton Ginivan (10 points).
