“No parking” signs at popular river access aim to help fire company

Cacapon River users will notice new “No Parking” signs set along the side of Powerhouse Road in Great Cacapon at the low water bridge access. State highway workers placed the signs on both sides of the road at the popular swimming and boating spot recently, at the request of the Great Cacapon Volunteer Fire Company. The fire company fills their tanker trucks at the low water bridge, and have run into situations where parked vehicles block their ability to pull the truck in and fill it quickly. That delay is a problem when the fire company is responding to a fire emergency.

Signs are posted on both sides of the roadway from the bridge to the eastern shore of the river.
