William Edward “Wil” Rightnour

William Edward “Wil” Rightnour, age 25, of Berkeley Springs, W.Va., died on Wednesday, August 4, 2021 at War Memorial Hospital in Berkeley Springs.

Born November 28, 1995 in Silver Spring, Md., he was the son of Richard Alan and Kimberly Ann Barney Rightnour, of Berkeley Springs.

He was a Christian.

Wil was a 2014 graduate of Berkeley Springs High School where he received the Golden Horseshoe Award, and he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in communications from Shepherd University.

He had worked at Food Lion in Berkeley Springs and most recently as an assessor with the Morgan County Assessors office. He was a video producer.

Wil enjoyed video games, concerts and spending time with family and friends.

He adored his cats, Athena and Tobi and his dog, Loki.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his sisters, Courtney Lee Turner and her husband Todd, Angelica Frances Brady and Elizabeth Virginia Rose Rightnour; his brother, Richard Andrew Rightnour and his wife Caitlin, all of Berkeley Springs; his maternal grandmother, Sandra Lee Perry Barney of Berkeley Springs; four nieces and nephews, Magdalena Joanne Rightnour and EmberLee Grace Turner, both of Berkeley Springs, Camden Jacob Turner of Altoona, Pa., and Collin Dahl Turner of Burlington, W.Va., and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Harry Douglas Barney; his paternal grandparents, Wales Edward and Madeline Larue Ryder Rightnour and one nephew, Richard Aiden Rightnour.

There was a celebration of Wil’s life at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, August 10, 2021 at Helsley-Johnson Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 95 Union Street, Berkeley Springs, W.Va., with Pastor Joey Giles officiating. Interment was private.
