Sylvia May Sutton
1933-2022
Sylvia May Sutton, age 89, of Great Cacapon, W.Va., died on Wednesday, June 8, 2022 at Stonerise Berkeley Springs Center.
Born March 11, 1933 in Millbrook, NY, she was the daughter of the late Willard Franklin and Gladys Barth Sutton.
She was a Christian. She attended public schools in New York and earned a Bachelor’s Degree from Skidmore College in Saratoga Springs, N.Y. She was on the Colorado Ski Patrol in Estes Park, where she also did museum taxidermy displays. She was a lover of the planet and all creatures, a large contributor to the Humane Society as well as many other organizations supporting wildlife and the planet. She would often be seen picking up trash along the side of the road in her efforts to support the planet.
She is survived by two nieces, Elizabeth Susan Sutton of Berkeley Springs and Andrea Mallette of Beltsville, Md., one nephew, John P. Sutton of Beltsville, Md. and several great nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, John Franklin Sutton and Harold Sutton.
Services and interment will be private.
