Susan E. Senger Bayliss

Susan E. Senger Bayliss, 81, of Winchester, Va., originally from Erie, Pa., passed away Thursday, March 17, 2022 at The Village at Orchard Ridge.
She is the daughter of the late Bernard and Jean (Cooper) Senger.
Susan graduated from the Benedictine Academy, Class of 1958, and moved to San Francisco, Calif. She went on to receive her degree from St. Joseph School of Nursing as a Registered Nurse. Then, in 1964, Susan entered active duty in the United States Army. She served as a nurse anesthetist in the Army in Okinawa, Japan, South Korea, Heidelberg, Germany and various military posts in the United States and after 20 years, retired with the rank of Lieutenant Colonel.
Susan obtained her Bachelors of Science Degree in Hospital and Health Administration in 1986, and moved to Morgan County, W.Va., where she worked at War Memorial Hospital for over eight years. Susan served on the Morgan County Board of Health, volunteered at the Morgan County Library and Hospice of the Eastern Panhandle.
Susan leaves behind two brothers, Michael (Nancy) Senger and Mark Senger, both of San Francisco, Calif., and many cousins and close friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents and sister, Mary Senger.
Susan will be interred in Arlington National Cemetery in the fall.
