State plans to open new DMV office here by 2023

West Virginia’s Division of Motor Vehicles is in talks now with a “prospective Lessor” who could

provide space for a new DMV office to be built in Berkeley Springs, state officials confirmed Monday.

The state put out a “Solicitation of Interest” this fall for roughly 9.000 square feet of space to “house a new DMV regional office in Berkeley Springs,” said DOT spokesperson Natalie Holcomb.

Several responses came back to the state on options for where that office could be located, and the agency is negotiating now to finalize their plans.

Holcomb said the state anticipates the office will open here in 2023.
