Morgan County Schools Superintendent Kristen Tuttle and school board members congratulated the students on their accomplishments and expressed gratitude for parents encouraging their kids to excel.

Tuttle told students that “I appreciate the hard work and commitment that each of you exhibit as you strive to be not only good students, but also great all-around people.  I’m proud of you. Keep it up.”

General assessment

Some 36 students that received awards for the West Virginia General Summative Assessment had level 4 scores-the highest scores- in at least two of the three subjects.

Seven students-Warm Springs Intermediate School fifth graders Jade Kidwell, Davis Stotler and Annabelle Pennington and Warm Springs Middle School eighth graders Daniel Clark, Leland Lusk, Lyric Loving and Lee Sheppard-got level 4 scores in all three subjects.

The West Virginia General Summative Assessment tests students in grades 3-8 and grade 11 for academic progress in English language arts and mathematics.  Students in grades 5, 8 and 11 are also tested in science.
