School board approves changes of personnel at county schools

The Morgan County School Board approved resignations, hires and additional duty for school personnel at their July 5 meeting.

The board accepted the resignation of Ginnie Molnar from her longtime role as Widmyer Elementary Assistant Principal. Her resignation was effective June 27.

Les Morris resigned as halftime Berkeley Springs High School credit recovery teacher and halftime high school graduation coach effective at the end of June 27.

Ryan Brandenburg resigned as Berkeley Springs High School social studies teacher effective at the end of July 5.

Chase Newton resigned as Berkeley Springs High School multi-categorical special education teacher effective at the end of June 22.

Candace Kenney resigned as Warm Springs Middle School eighth grade math teacher effective at the end of June 29.

Tammy Youngblood resigned as county school nurse effective at the end of July 1.  Youngblood was hired as a substitute nurse beginning with the 2022-2023 school year.

Justin Cowles and Barbara Zimmerman resigned as substitute teachers effective at the end of June 28 and June 27 respectively.

Long-term subs

School board members hired 12 long-term substitutes to fill teacher and counselor vacancies starting with the 2022-2023 school year or until a fully certified candidate is employed.

Jeon Jaeheon was employed as a Berkeley Springs High School long-term substitute math teacher.

Derek Hovermale was hired as a Berkeley Springs High School long-term substitute alternative education teacher.

Diana Hiles was employed as a Berkeley Springs High School long-term substitute alternative education lead teacher/coordinator.

Kari Lacy was hired as a Berkeley Springs High School long-term substitute math teacher.

Tina Swift was employed as a Pleasant View Elementary long-term substitute Title I reading specialist.

Gary Wachter and Charles Scott Wachter were hired as Warm Springs Middle School long-term substitute language arts teachers.

Pat Place was hired as a Warm Springs Middle School long-term substitute math teacher.

Joshua Morrell was employed as a Warm Springs Middle School long-term substitute multi-categorical special education teacher for students with autism.

Rhiannon Ritenour was hired as a Paw Paw High School long-term substitute multi-categorical special education teacher for students with autism.

Lora Hetrick was employed as a Paw Paw Elementary long-term substitute kindergarten teacher.

Robin Langenstein was hired as a Warm Springs Middle School long-term substitute school guidance counselor beginning July 6.

Regina Kenney transferred from a position as Widmyer Elementary library/media specialist to one as Warm Springs Middle School math interventionist.

Service personnel

Jessica Hook and Keri Puffenberger were hired as Widmyer Elementary aides/early childhood classroom assistant teachers (ECCATs) starting August 15.

Misty Clark, Warm Springs Intermediate School itinerant special education aide/autism mentor, had her classification and pay grade updated to include completion of autism mentor beginning with the 2022-2023 school year.

Widmyer Elementary custodian III Mike Baker transferred to a position as county general maintenance, custodian, truck driver and groundsman starting July 1.

Joyce Baker was hired as a Widmyer Elementary halftime cook II.

Megan Lampson was employed as a substitute bus driver beginning July 6.

Jonathan Mason resigned as substitute custodian effective at the end of June 26.

Extracurricular/extra duty

   Shanahan Elmore was hired as Warm Springs Intermediate School third grade team leader starting with the 2022-2023 school year.

Amy Glascock resigned as Warm Springs Middle School seventh grade team leader effective at the end of June 3.

Summer personnel

   Thomas Lacy was hired as Berkeley Springs High School summer credit recovery teacher from June 27-July 15.

Gloria Rankin was employed as an extended school year (ESY) supplemental bus driver (Mondays/Wednesdays) from June 27-July 21.

Raymond Steiner and Gloria Rankin were hired as MC After 3 Summer Camp bus drivers beginning July 25 as needed.

Coaches

Dale McCumbee was employed as Warm Springs Middle School head golf coach beginning August 1.

Holly Palmer was hired as Paw Paw Schools assistant volleyball coach for grades 7/8 starting August 1.

Michael Powell was employed as Berkeley Springs High School assistant girls’ soccer coach beginning August 1.

James Bowers and Robert Ambrose were hired as Berkeley Springs High School volunteer assistant football coaches for the 2022-2023 season starting August 1.

Kevin Barney resigned as Berkeley Springs High School head boys’ soccer coach effective at the end of June 30.

Les Morris resigned as Berkeley Springs High School head volleyball coach effective at the end of June 27.

Michelle Morris resigned as Berkeley Springs High School assistant volleyball coach effective at the end of July 1.
