1946-2022

Ronald James Everitt, age 75, of Berkeley Springs, W.Va., died on Saturday, February 12, 2022 at Meritus Medical Center in Hagerstown, Md.

Born December 27, 1946 in Hancock, Md., he was the son of the late Wilbur Benjamin and Maxine Lillie Hoopengardner Everitt.

He was a Christian.

Ronnie was a 1965 graduate of Hancock High School and worked for 28 years until his retirement in 2007 as a correctional officer at MCI in Hagerstown.

He loved to spend time with his family. Ronnie enjoyed deer hunting, cooking and he collected antique tractors.

Surviving are his wife of 56 years, Patricia Kay Eaton Everitt, at home; his children, Gregory Benjamin Everitt and Rhonda Lee Ramer, both of Berkeley Springs; four sisters, Shirley Heiner and Milly Potter, both of Hedgesville, W.Va., Betty Whiteside of Amaranth, Pa. and Judy Lutman of Fredericksburg, Va.; three grandchildren, Janelle Lynn Golden of Hancock, Kayla Dawn Souders and Brandon Eugene Fleece, both of Berkeley Springs; six great-grandchildren, Kynzie Diane Golden, Laylah JoAnn Golden and Mia Catherine Golden, all of Hancock, Madison Grace Souders, Lyle Hunter Souders and Presley Sage Souders, all of Berkeley Springs, and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two infant brothers, both named Richard Everitt and his son-in-law, Ronald Lee Ramer.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, February 16, 2022 at Helsley-Johnson Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 95 Union Street, Berkeley Springs W.Va. with Pastor Jerry Fletcher and Pastor Tim Swindell officiating. Interment will be in Whips Cove Cemetery, Flickerville, Pa.

The family will receive friends from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home.
