Monday’s snowstorm accumulated enough slush to make travel on local roads dangerous for many drivers in the afternoon and evening hours.
Three to five inches of snow piled up over as many hours, making sidewalks and roads slick. Main streets were cleared but secondary roads were difficult to navigate, according to residents in the outer edges of the county.

A motor vehicle accident in the 2600 block of Martinsburg Road reportedly included a vehicle rollover.
Morgan County Sheriff’s Department Chief Deputy Johnnie Walter said the single vehicle accident happened around 12:30 p.m. The vehicle flipped multiple times and the driver was able to climb out of the sunroof to exit the wreck. He was later transported for medical treatment. Walter said there were multiple other incidents of vehicles sliding off the road into ditches.
Near Paw Paw, an accident involving a passenger car and tractor trailer spared the occupants in- juries but required emergency response to monitor traffic movement around the incident on snowy roads.
