Nicole Renee Yonker, age 49, of Clear Spring, Md., passed away on Monday, August 23, 2021 at the UPMC West Shore Hospital, in Mechanicsburg, Pa., from complications caused by the Covid virus.

Nicole was born on Sunday, June 11, 1972, at the Roosevelt Roads Naval Station, in Ceiba, Puerto Rico, the daughter of Dennis K. Golden and Sue E. Golden, of Warfordsburg, Pa.

Nicole was a Christian with a strong faith in the Lord. She began attending Cedar Grove Christian Church, in Warfordsburg, as a baby with her parents and grandmother, where she later became a member. She loved going to camp meetings at Crystal Spring, Pa., where her grandmother owned a cottage.

She graduated from Heritage Academy, in Hagerstown, Md., in 1990; and then began working as a nurse’s aide at the Valley View Nursing Home, in Berkeley Springs, W.Va., along with her mother who was the Assistant Director of Nursing there at the time. Nicole worked there while attending Allegany County Community College, where she received her certificate for LPN in July of 1995. She continued working and studying, and received her Associates Degree and RN license in May, 1996. Her nursing career included working for Dr. Frederic Kass, in Hagerstown, Md., and Reeder’s Memorial Home, in Boonsboro, Md.

After that, Nicole turned her attention to caring for her two children, which was her true passion. She spent every possible moment of her time looking after them. They were the love of her life, and she was theirs.

She helped her father in his surveying office as often as she could, doing a variety of tasks; and also helped to care for her mother, who has MS, by taking her to doctor appointments, doing pharmacy pick-ups, laundry, and anything else that was needed.

Nicole is survived by her husband, Richard A. Yonker, of Clear Spring, Md.; a daughter, Sydney R. Yonker; a son, Logan A. Yonker; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her infant brother, Aaron Michael Golden, who passed in 1974; her maternal grandparents, O. Raymond Duvall and Ruth F. (Barkman) Duvall, Warfordsburg; and her paternal grandparents, John R. Golden and Violet P. (Jackson) Golden, Hancock, Md.
