Morris Dean “Bob” Somers

1935-2022

Morris Dean “Bob” Somers, 86, of Berkeley Springs, West Virginia, passed away on January 17, 2022 at War Memorial Hospital in Berkeley Springs, West Virginia.

Bob was born on October 10, 1935 in Morgan County, W.Va., to Wilford Clyde Somers and Virginia Dilores (Cain) Somers.

Although Bob was blind in the right eye and couldn’t hear with the right ear, he was a very hard worker.

Bob worked as an Asplundh Tree Trimmer, Vanguard and at Donald Widmeyer Orchards.

Bob would ride his bike to Hancock all the time.

Bob liked Weaver’s Restaurant, the Truck Stop and the Blue Goose for Apple Butter.

Bob loved his lawn mower. He was always mowing grass.

Bob is survived by two sisters, Phyllis Fox, of Hedgesville, W.Va., and Carol Emerson, of Berkeley Springs, W.Va.; six brothers, James Somers, of Berkeley Springs, W.Va., Dale and Aggie Somers, of Berkeley Springs, W.Va., Dennis Somers, of Berkeley Springs, W.Va., Randy and Sandy Somers, of Gerrardstown, W.Va., Louis and Anna Somers, of Berkeley Springs, W.Va., David and Dee Somers, of Berkeley Springs, W.Va. He is survived by several nieces and nephews. Also, great nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews.

Bob was preceded in death by two brothers Joe Somers, of Bunker Hill, W.Va., and Gary Somers of Rockingham, N.C.

Grave site service was at Spohrs Cross Roads Cemetery in Berkeley Springs, W.Va.
