Mary Ellamae Houston, age 81, of Berkeley Springs, W.Va., died on Thursday, March 24, 2022 at E.W. Hawse Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Baker, W.Va.

Born May 30, 1940 in Morgan County, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Charles Edwin and Anna Marie Stotler Heironimus.

She was of the Methodist faith.

Ellamae was a graduate of Berkeley Springs High School.

She worked as a clerk for Food Lion and the Dollar General Store.

Ellamae enjoyed baking and collected bells, angels and Thomas Kincade items. She looked forward every year decorating the meters in downtown Martinsburg with flags and ribbons. Ellamae was a #1 fan of the WVU Mountaineers. She was an avid supporter of Israel.

Ellamae is survived by her children, Mark Edward Michael and his wife, Megan of Inwood, W.Va., Marcella Faith Crabbs and her husband, Fred of Gettysburg, Pa., Angel Marie Houston of Parkersburg, W.Va., her siblings, Lynda Karole Bradley of Berkeley Springs, W.Va., Donald “Jimmy” Heironimus, of Inwood, Kenneth Heironimus of Berkeley Springs, and Richard Heironimus of Berkeley Springs, eight grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three sisters, Retha Crosen, Judy Heironimus, Bonita “Bonnie” Kline, two brothers, Charles “Chuck” Heironimus and Clifford Heironimus.

Funeral services were conducted at 1 p.m. on Monday, March 28, 2022 at Helsley-Johnson Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 95 Union Street, Berkeley Springs. Pastor Jack W. Hiles, Jr. officiated. Burial was in Greenwood Grove Cemetery.

The family received friends from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the funeral home on Monday.
