Mac was born October 13, 1932, at home, in Thompson Township, Pa. Mac is the son of the late Mac J. Pittman, Sr. and Amber P (Younker) Pittman.

Mac is survived by his son, Lynn Roger Pittman; daughter, Beverly Diane Pittman-Glass; son-in-law, Steven Michael Glass; one sister, Olive V. Rogers; granddaughter, Amber F. Morris; great-granddaughter, Marlo F. Morris; granddaughters, Wendy Morris, Jessica Francis, and Johanna Pittman; grandson, Jacob Pittman; eleven great-grandchildren, Markell Twigg, Xavier Twigg, Aubrey Russ Jr., Keandre Russ, Tyson Russ, Nathan Francis, Jacoby Francis, Gabriel Francis, Elijah Snow, Zoey Snow and Ily Forsyth; nieces, Joyce Rinehold, Gloria Duke, Louise Jacobs, Sharon Cohen, Debbie Flowers; nephew, Jim Rogers and numerous great nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Mac was preceded in death by his wife of 43 years, Helen Emma Kifer-Pittman; one brother, Carl Eugene Pittman; and two sisters, Alvira E. Pittman, and Naomi J. Rinehart.

In March 1953, at age 21, Mac enlisted into the U.S. Army, during the Korean War, as a member of the 285th Artillery Battalion, 82nd Airborne. He was honorably discharged in March 1955, rank of Sergeant. During his military service, Mac received the National Defense Service Medal and Good Conduct Medal.

Mac was an active member of Pleasant Grove Christian Church. Mac and Helen were Saved at the Cross on March 28, 1997, and Baptized on July 27, 1997, at Tonoloway Creek.

Beyond his Christian commitment, he was a member of Webster B. Harrison Post 26 American Legion.

Later in life, he received his GED along with certifications in Accounting and Blue Printing.

He was employed by Pennsylvania Glass Sand Company (now known as U.S. Silica) as a Blasting Foreman, retiring after 42 years.

During his working years, and after retirement, one could find him at Pittman’s Grocery store mowing grass and cleaning the parking lot nightly. He always needed to keep busy, but we believe he also enjoyed the socializing.

His saying was “Burning Daylight” which meant ‘Don’t waste daylight hours, get the job done.’ Dad, we’re going to miss those Baby Blues and your Cat ate the Canary Smile.
