1949-2021

Linda Mae Schlicht, age 71, of Berkeley Springs, W.Va., passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, September 15, 2021 at Winchester Medical Center in Winchester, Va.

Born December 9, 1949 in Baltimore, Md., to the late Werner and Ellanora Struewe Geisler; wife to her loving husband, Otto and mother to their son, Otto II and daughter, Megan.

Linda was 1967 graduate of Northeast High School in Pasadena, Md. She trained at Harbor Hospital in Baltimore, becoming a Licensed Histologist and Lab Technician.

She was employed by Harbor Hospital, Fort Meade Army Hospital, Armed Forces Institute of Pathology in Bethesda, Md., and Andrews Air Force Base Hospital in Prince George’s County, Md. Linda later left the laboratory workforce, devoting her time to being a mother and homemaker. While raising her children, Linda went on to work at Dandelion Herb Shop in Glen Burnie, Md., studying holistic healing and iridology, she later became a Certified Chiropractic Assistant at Bartlinski’s Chiropractic & Physical Therapy. Prior to fully retiring, Linda went on to work at the Anne Arundel County Food Bank, while serving as Chaplain for Anne Arundel County Fire Department & Sheriff’s Department, finally retiring from Schneider Steel Company in Curtis Bay, Md.

Following Linda & family moving from Curtis Bay, Md., to Berkeley Springs, W.Va., full time in 2013, Linda was active in the American Legion Auxiliary, serving as President for a number of years. She joined the Morgan County Deputy Reserves as the Sheriff Department’s Chaplain. Most recently and at the time of her death, she was President of the War Memorial Hospital Auxiliary, Treasurer for Senior Life Services of Morgan County, active with Stepping Stones to a Brighter Future and a member of Highland United Methodist Church.

Her brother, Frederick Geisler and sister-in-law, Loretta Geisler, preceded Linda in death. She is survived by her husband, Otto P. Schlicht of Berkeley Springs, W.Va.; her son Otto P. Schlicht, II of Ocean City, Md., his wife, Nicole, his two children Koen and Ella and two stepdaughters, Lily and Caroline Olson; her daughter, Megan Schlicht, niece Cindy Geisler, nephew Duane Geisler, additional cousins in Germany and beloved family dogs, Willow & Gypsy.

Interment will be private and at Linda’s request, there will be no viewing.
