Kenneth Wayne Hutchinson
1954-2022
Kenneth Wayne “Kenny” Hutchinson, age 67, of Great Cacapon, W.Va., passed away on Saturday, March 5, 2022 at War Memorial Hospital in Berkeley Springs, W.Va.
Born October 3, 1954 in Berkeley Springs, W.Va., he was the son of the late Irvin Arley, Sr. and Marian Delores Piper Hutchinson.
He was a Christian.
Kenny was a graduate of Berkeley Springs High School and was an auto mechanic by trade.
He served with the U. S. Army from August 4, 1980 until his honorable discharge at the rank of Private First Class on October 16, 1985. He received the M-16 Sharpshooter Badge, the Driver and Mechanic Badge, the Army Service Ribbon and the Army Good Conduct Medal.
He loved to hunt, fish and spend time with his family.
Surviving are his wife of 46 years, Patsy Ann Crouse Hutchinson, at home, his children, Jason Wayne Hutchinson and his wife Sherri, Melanie Cheri Hutchinson and her life partner Ben Drake and Erica Lynn Hutchinson, all of Great Cacapon, Amy Michelle Young and her husband Earl, of Martinsburg, W.Va., his sister, Betty Lou Smelser of Great Cacapon, one brother, Roger Keith “Mouse” Hutchinson of Berkeley Springs, four grandchildren, Valerie Michelle Young of Martinsburg, Blake Thomas Drake and Brandon Scott Jenkins, both of Great Cacapon, and Robert Christopher Jenkins of Berkeley Springs, two great-grandchildren, Christian James Jenkins and Catherine Elizabeth Jenkins, both of Berkeley Springs and several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Irvin Arley Hutchinson, Jr.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Friday, March 11, 2022 at Helsley-Johnson Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 95 Union Street, Berkeley Springs, W.Va. where military honors will be provided by the Tri-State Honor Guard at 7:30 p.m. Services and interment will be private.
