Judy V. Shade
1943-2021
Judy V. Shade, age 78, of McConnellsburg, Pa., passed away on Wednesday, August 11, 2021, at Magnolias of Chambersburg.
She was born on Sunday, March 7, 1943, in Berkeley Springs, W.Va., the daughter of the late Robert and the late Esther (Householder) Yost. Judy married the late Larry J. Shade on March 18, 1962.
Early in life, along with her husband, Judy lived in Washington D.C. and worked at the Pentagon as an administrative assistant. In 1969, Judy and Larry moved back to McConnellsburg, Pa., and purchased the Tastee Freez which they operated until 1980. She began working at the Fulton County National Bank as an administrative assistant, eventually working her way to become a trust officer at F&M Trust in Chambersburg, Pa. Judy retired from F&M Trust in 2008.
After retirement, Judy was very active in the McConnellsburg United Methodist Church and volunteered at the Fulton County Medical Center.
Judy is survived by her daughter, Lori Shade (wife of Kurt) Hoffeditz of Chambersburg, Pa., and one grandson Nathan, to whom she was devoted and loved spending time with.
Judy is preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Esther Yost and her husband Larry J. Shade.
Funeral services were held on Monday, August, 16, at Kelso-Cornelius Funeral Home in McConnellsburg, Pa. Interment was at Union Cemetery in McConnellsburg, Pa.

The family has entrusted Judy’s care to Kelso-Cornelius Funeral Home in McConnellsburg, Pa.
