Jennings Leon Vanorsdale, Jr.

1962-2021

Jennings Leon “Punkin” Vanorsdale, Jr., passed away unexpectedly at his home on October 11, 2021, and is now resting in the arms of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Jennings was born in Berkeley Springs, W.Va., on July 18, 1962, to Rosa Lea (Hovermale) and the late Jennings Leon Vanorsdale, Sr. He was the oldest of five children.

He graduated from Berkeley Springs High School in 1980, Lee started going to College in 1986, and earned his Master’s Degree in Counseling from West Virginia University in 1992. He married his college sweetheart, Donna Renee Hoffee, on October 17, 1987.

Jennings and Donna have four children and two grandchildren.

Jennings was a man of many talents. He worked his way through college as a florist and then for several years as a florist at Ginger’s Flower Shop. He decorated many churches and made arrangements for many weddings, including his daughter Devan and Will’s wedding. He was gifted with other arts and crafts as well. He enjoyed canning, gardening, farming, fishing, camping, and being outdoors. He was an avid reader and full of knowledge.

He was a kind, compassionate man, always putting others before himself. He had a deep love for his family and was so proud of his children. He loved being Pap Pap and spending time with his granddaughters. He loved the Lord with all his heart. He was dedicated to serving others and helping others find Christ.

He attended Hancock Church of God in his youth, Gateway Church of God for over 20 years, and recently Vision Church when his health permitted.

Jennings is survived by his wife Donna, his children: Devan and husband Will Green, Braden and wife Kylie, Trevor, Kierra, his mother Rosa Lea, his siblings: Brock and wife Mary, Candy, Rusty and wife Barb, and four nephews: Seth and wife Jess, Hunter, CJ and Landon.

He was preceded in death by his father Jennings Leon, Sr. and his brother Tony.

Family and friends gathered at Hancock Church of God, 7528 Millstone Road, Hancock, Md., 21750, on Friday, October 15, 2021, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. A Celebration of Life Service was held at Hancock Church of God on Saturday, October 16, 2021, at 11 a.m., followed by a graveside service at Rehoboth Cemetery.
