James Daymond Carpenter, Sr.
1951-2022
James Daymond “Jimmy” Carpenter, Sr., age 70, of Berkeley Springs, W.Va., died on Saturday, January 1, 2022 at his home.
Born January 31, 1951 in Martinsburg, W.Va., he was the son of the late Richard Bender, Sr. and Frances LaVerne Kelley Carpenter.
Jimmy was a Methodist.
He was a graduate of Berkeley Springs High School and had worked at O’Sullivan’s Auto Parts in Winchester, Va. and later at Caperton’s Furniture Works.
He was a member of Loyal Order of Moose Lodge #1483, Alderton-Dawson American Legion Post #60 and Risinger-Stotler V.F.W. Post #4019, all in Berkeley Springs.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing as well as vegetable and flower gardening.
Jimmy is survived by his wife, Roxanna Kay Haines Carpenter, at home, his children, James Daymond Carpenter, Jr. and his wife Elizabeth of Charles Town, W.Va., Shayne Ray Carpenter of Berkeley Springs and Michele Denise Delamater of Dayton, Ohio, one brother, Edwin Dean Carpenter of Berkeley Springs, seven grandchildren, Corey Carpenter and Dallas Carpenter, both of Berkeley Springs, Alec Delamater, Trever Delamater and Evan Delamater, all of Dayton, Ohio, Breanna Carpenter and Lindsey Carpenter, both of Charles Town, W.Va., two great-grandchildren, Annabella Carpenter and Chandler Carpenter, both of Berkeley Springs and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Richard Bender Carpenter, Jr. and one great-grandson Brayden Carpenter.
Services and interment will be private.
