James Arthur Faith, Jr.

1940-2022

James Arthur Faith, Jr., age 81, of Berkeley Springs, W.Va., died on Monday, May 23, 2022 at his home while under the care of Hospice of the Panhandle.

Born August 31, 1940 in Hancock, Md., he was the son of the late James Arthur, Sr. and Freda Diane Bowers Faith.

He was a member of the Supreme Council of the House of Jacob in Hancock.

Mr. Faith was a graduate of Hancock High School and retired after 25 years of service as a machinist with Dupont in Martinsburg, W.Va.

He served in the U.S. Army.

He enjoyed fishing, hunting and liked to travel.

Surviving are his wife of 63 years, Mary Carolyn Neely Faith, at home, his children, Denise Lynne Strait of Harrisonville, Pa., James Arthur Faith, Jr., Gabriel Scott Faith and Andrea Danielle McFadden, all of Berkeley Springs, two sisters, Rachel Atkins of Batavia, Ohio and JoAnne Moats of Hancock, one brother, Benjamin Faith of Loveland, Ohio, eight grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one grandson, Logan Faith and one brother, Timothy Faith.

Funeral services were conducted at 1 p.m. on Friday, May 27, 2022 at Helsley-Johnson Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 95 Union Street, Berkeley Springs, W.Va. where the family received friends from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Presiding Elder Caleb Wilt officiated. Interment was in the Supreme Council of the House of Jacob Cemetery in Hancock.
