Harry Ralph Barker
1936-2022
Harry Ralph Barker, age 85, of Hancock Md. Entered into rest Thursday, January 13, 2022 at his home surrounded by his family.
Born April 29, 1936 in Berkeley Springs, W.Va. He was the son of John Bernard and Agnes (Everett) Barker.
Harry was a house painting contractor for over 50 years.
He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean conflict.
He was a member of the American Legion in Berkeley Springs, W.Va. Post 60. He was also a member at the Moose Lodge in Berkeley Springs, W.Va.
Harry enjoyed refurbishing antique furniture as a hobby and was very talented in doing so.
Harry is survived by his seven daughters, Joyce Barker of Berkeley Springs, W.Va. Barbara Hensley of Needmore, Pa. Tina Broadwater of Sharpsburg, Md. Helen Barker of Windemere, Fla. Mary Fink of Hancock, Md. Cindy Mellott of Warfordsburg, Pa. Melinda Huynh of London, England. As well as 12 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Florence Louise Barker, and his sister, Betty Tucker, and brother, John E. Barker.
He leaves behind two sisters, Phyllis Duffey and Mary Breeden, and one brother, Larry Barker.
There was a celebration of life for Harry on Tuesday, January 18, 2022 from 6 p.m.-8 p.m. at the Hancock Community Center.
