Gloria Jean Kettering
1931-2021
Gloria Jean Kettering, age 90, of Acworth, Georgia, formerly of Berkeley Springs, West Virginia, passed away on Tuesday, December 28, 2021.
Jean was born to the late Paul Householder and the late Della Risinger Householder on November 21, 1931. She was one of two children.
Her legacy and passion were her beloved husband Bill, her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She found joy in nurturing and loving her family and strived to instill those values.
Jean was a very spiritual woman; she enjoyed politics and sharing her strong beliefs and opinions with others. She was an intelligent woman who remained quick and insightful. She enjoyed caring for plants, cooking, meticulously teaching her family that there is a proper way to do things, and most of all, her companionship with her little dog “Peanut.”
Jean is preceded in death by her parents; loving husband, Charles William “Bill” Kettering Sr. who passed in 2018; and her brother, Leroy Householder.
Her memory will be cherished by her children, Charles William “Billy” Kettering Jr. (Kathy), David R. Kettering (Jacqueline “Jackie”), Deborah “Debbie” Robinson (Gordon), Pam Carter (Gary) and Paul Kettering (Carol); 11 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.
The Kettering family received friends on Sunday, January 2, 2022 from 1 p.m. until 3 p.m. at Woodstock Funeral Home. Services were held on Monday, January 3, 2022 at 12 p.m. in the Reece Memorial Chapel at Woodstock Funeral Home with Pastor James Long officiating. A committal service followed at 1:30 p.m. at Rolling Hills Memory Gardens in Acworth, Georgia where she was laid to rest alongside her husband, Bill.
