Eleanor Virginia Zimmerman, age 76, of Hancock, Md., died on Tuesday, November 16, 2021 at Winchester Medical Center.

Born March 17, 1945 in Berkeley Springs, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Dewey Barney and Effy Mae Beddow Palmer.

She attended Hancock United Methodist Church. V

irginia went to Berkeley Springs High School and worked for more than 40 years, as a waitress at the Park-N-Dine Restaurant in Hancock.

She liked dining out, going to yard sales, socializing and was very fond of her cat.

Virginia is survived by her children, Bryan Keith Zimmerman and his wife Chandra, of Mercersburg, Pa., Angie Renee Scott and her husband Dave, of Milford, Del.; her stepchildren, Dee Ann Spade and her husband James, of Needmore, Pa., Teri Lee Wilbourne and her husband James, of Great Cacapon, W.Va., Meri Sue Wydysh and her husband Aaron, of Berkeley Springs and Donna Lorraine Hart and her husband Chuck, of Tucson, Ariz.; one sister, Shirley Jean Palmer, of Inwood, W.Va.; 18 grandchildren; 28 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Oliver Zimmerman, Sr., on April 8, 2007; one son, Tony Stotler; one stepson, Henry Oliver Zimmerman, Jr.; two sisters, Hilda Mae Clark and Betty Lou Haines; three brothers, Charles William Palmer, Eddie Lee Palmer and his twin.

Funeral services were conducted at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, November 23, at Helsley-Johnson Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 95 Union Street, Berkeley Springs, W.Va. The Rev. Dr. Barbara Suffecool officiated. Interment was in Great Cacapon Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers donations to help defray funeral expenses may be made directly to the funeral home.
