Eldon P. Younker, 91, of 141 Tollgate Ridge, Mercersburg, Pa., passed away Sunday, January 30, 2022, at Homewood at Williamsport, Md.

Born July 24, 1930, near Sylvan, Franklin County, Pa., he was the son of the late Kreps R. and Estella Pauline Hanes Younker and the husband of the late Lois H. (Landers) Younker.

He was a well-known farmer in lower Fulton County, Thompson Township, Fulton County, Pa.

He was a Veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in the Korean War.

He was a member of the VFW FOVA Post 655, in McConnellsburg, Pa. He was a member of the Pennsylvania Farm Bureau Association. He was named Farmer of the Year in 1966 by the Fulton County Soil Conservation District. He was a Past Director of the Southern Fulton School Board, Past Director of the Southern States Coop and Past Director of the Mercersburg Sportsman Club.

He was employed by Wright Construction as a bulldozer operator and helped to build Interstate 70 in Washington County, Md.

He is survived by two sons; Kirk T., wife Diane, and Blane T., wife Jackie D.; four grandsons, Travis, wife Erin, Byron, Kyle, wife Megan, and Adam; seven great-grandchildren; three sisters, Argyle V. Sensel, Hagerstown, Md., Barbara Ann Deneen, Hancock, Md., Connie I. Booth, Warfordsburg, Pa.; six brothers, Edward H. Younker and Clarence Randall Younker, both of Warfordsburg, Pa., Vaughn H. Younker, Falling Waters, W.Va., Maurice C. Younker and D. Leon Younker, both of Mercersburg, Pa., Carl T. Younker, Big Cove Tannery; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a sister, Marlene Hill and a daughter, Judy Eskew; two brothers, Guy A. Younker and Donald L. Younker.

Funeral services were held Saturday, February 5, at Damascus Christian Church, 717 Big Cove Tannery Road, Big Cove Tannery, Pa. Rev. Russell Hoffman officiated. Burial was in Damascus Cemetery.

Funeral services were entrusted to Grove Funeral Home, 141 West Main Street, Hancock, Md.
