Eddie Lee Palmer
1953-2021
Eddie Lee Palmer, age 67, of Great Cacapon, W.Va., died on Sunday, September 26, 2021 at Winchester Medical Center.
Born December 7, 1953 in Berkeley Springs, W.Va., he was the son of the late Dewey Barney and Effie Mae Beddow Palmer.
He was a Christian. Eddie attended public schools in Martinsburg and had worked seasonally at National Fruit as well as delivering the Martinsburg Journal newspaper.
He had been a member of American Legion Post #60 and Loyal Order of Moose Lodge #1483.
Eddie was truly a kind hearted person and was always available to lend a helping hand.
He is survived by two sisters, Eleanor Virginia Zimmerman of Hancock, Md. and Shirley Jean Palmer of Inwood, W.Va. and several nieces and nephews including James and Teri Wilbourne with whom he resided.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Hilda Mae Clark and Betty Lou Haines and two brothers, Charles William “Bill” Palmer and an infant twin brother.
The family will receive friends from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, September 30 at Helsley-Johnson Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 95 Union Street, Berkeley Springs, W.Va. Services and interment in Bethel Cemetery will be private.
