County hires Hoover as part-time OES director

Morgan County officials earlier this month voted 3-0 to hire Jason Hoover as the county’s new director of the Office of Emergency Services (OES).

Jason Hoover.

Hoover will fill a position left vacant by the resignation of Dick Myers earlier this year.

Hoover, a career firefighter, will work as a part-time OES director, putting in no more than 19.5 hours per week, said commissioners. He is expected to start in the job on January 3, 2022 at an annual salary of $28,000 with no benefits. Hoover lives in Morgan County.

Four people applied for the position, but two turned down interviews for it, said County Administrator Stefanie Allemong.
