Betty M. Arbogast Mason
1936-2021
Betty M. Arbogast Mason, 84, of Berkeley Springs,W.Va., passed away Tuesday, October 26, 2021 at Courtland Acres in Thomas, W.Va.
Born November 26, 1936 in Berkeley Springs,W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Jessie Dawson Arbogast McBee and Arlie Roland Arbogast.
Betty was a 1955 graduate of Berkeley Springs High School. She was of Christian faith.
Betty and her husband, Donald, were owner operators of Mason’s Florist for 37 years. In more recent years, she retired from The City of Martinsburg after 19 years.
She was a lifetime member of the Order of Eastern Star, she was president of Apple Valley Bowling Association, served as director of Virginia State Bowling Board and was an election poll worker for many years. She was a member of Jr. O.U.A.M. Council #117.
She is survived by four children, Donald L. Mason, Jr., and his wife Jody, of Martinsburg, W.Va., Barbara A. Litten and husband Clarence, of Cherry Run, W.Va., Greg Mason and wife Susan, of Shepherdstown, W.Va., Lisa Webster and her husband Tod, of Berkeley Springs, W.Va.; eight grandchildren, Chris, Eric and Jessica Mason, Stephen and Brian Litten, Sabrina Mason Everhart, C. Logan Webster and Chrystal Doman; eight great-grandchildren, Silas, Jona, Makayla and Emilie Mason, Zoe Doman, Lucas, Aaron and Stone Everhart; one great-great-grandson, Mason J. Murry and one sister Deloris Jean Bourgeois.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Donald L. Mason, Sr., in 2003.
Funeral service was conducted Saturday, October 30, 2021 at 2 p.m. at Hunter-Anderson Funeral Home, 36 S. Green Street, Berkeley Springs, W.Va., Rev. William Swope officiated.
Burial will be in the Johnson Cemetery.
