Betty L. Hummel
1939-2021
Betty L. Hummel, 82, formerly of Berkeley Springs, W.Va., and known to her friends as “Space” went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, November 3, 2021 at her daughter’s home in Hanover, Pa.
Betty was born October 28, 1939. She married Wellington A. Hummel on July 1, 1956.
Betty, a long time resident of Berkeley Springs, was a devout follower of Jesus Christ and a former member of Berkeley Baptist Church.
She was a devoted mother, who loved the beach, playing cards and living life to the fullest. She was a loving person who made many friends and gave of herself to anyone in need.
Betty worked at many local establishments as a waitress.
She is survived by four children, Lorrie Little and husband James, Patsy Dutterer and husband Alan, Daniel Hummel and wife Tamelia and Paul Hummel; 12 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren, whom she loved dearly and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Wellington A. Hummel; son David and daughter-in-law Karen Hummel.
Memorial service is being held at 11 a.m. Saturday, November 13, 2021 at Wetzel Funeral Home, 549 Carlisle Street, Hanover, Pa., and can be viewed at www.wetzelfuneral home.com.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital in Betty’s name.
