The Berkeley Springs Indians varsity soccer team broke into the win column this past week in a dominating performance. The Petersburg Vikings paid a visit to Morgan Field on Tuesday, September 14 for soccer action.

The Tribe was ready and unleashed a scoring barrage that eventually turned into a 13-1 win over the Vikings.

Junior Ben Golden had a career night as he carved up the Petersburg defense for four goals.

Teammate and fellow junior Mickey Gurson added three goals for the hat trick.

Another junior Isaac Harris scored his first high school soccer goal while sophomore’s Axel Robles and Deven Stone scored along with seniors Ethan Fulton and Oscar Robles each adding a goal. Fulton, Harris, and Gurson both had assists. Sophomore goal keeper Justin Brinegar recorded four saves in the net.

The Indians hosted the Spring Mills Cardinals on Saturday, September 18 in a 1 p.m. start. For 90 minutes Spring Mills had to earn the 6-0 win over the scrappy Indians who refused to let the bigger AAA school push them around on the field.

Berkeley Springs (1-8) will be back in action this coming Thursday, September 23 when they travel to Northern Bedford, Pa., for a 7 p.m. contest. Then on Saturday, September 25 the Tribe will travel to Fairmont for a contest at East West Stadium against the Fairmont Sr. Polar Bears at 2 p.m.
