At the December 21, 2021 Bath Town Council meeting, with the approval of the Bath Finance Committee, the council members approved the $131,000 federal American Rescue Plan Act (Covid-19 Relief) funds that were allocated to the town.
The funds are to be disbursed as follows:
Councilman Chris Chapman said $48,000 is to be distributed in premium pay to town employees for work performed between January 1 and June 30, 2022, depending on terms of service.
“Employees who have worked for the town since March 1, 2020 will receive $3 an hour in premium pay based on the first 40 hours of work each week. Those employees who started working for the town since July 1, 2020 will receive $2 an hour in premium pay based on the first 40 hours of work each week. Those employees who have started working for the town since July 1, 2021, will receive $1 an hour in premium pay based on the first 40 hours of work each week,” Chapman said.
Chapman said $61,000 is allocated to Streetscapes to cover the balance of the town’s matching funds needed to support the design completion and construction of Phase 4B.
An additional $22,000 is allocated to the Town of Bath to recover documented revenue lost during the period of the pandemic.
Chapman said the remaining portion of $119,000 shall be allocated no earlier than 12 months after the first allocation of $131,000 received by the town in May, 2021.
“For this second allocation of funds, it is our understanding that we will have to request reimbursement of eligible Covid expenses or losses through the WV State website similar to how we sought funds through the CARES (Coronavirus Aid, Relief and Economic Security) Act,” Chapman said.
