Arthur Emil Blomberg III
Arthur Emil Blomberg III, age 61, of Berkeley Springs, W.Va., died on Friday, June 17, 2022 at his home surrounded by his family and while under the care of Hospice of the Panhandle.
Born in Homestead, Fla., he was the son of Arthur Emil Blomberg, Jr. and Shirley Shallenberg Blomberg, who currently reside in Connecticut.
He was a member of Love Assembly of God in Berkeley Springs, where he loved to sing his praise to his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.å
Arthur graduated with high honors from Windham Regional Vocational Technical School in June of 1979, then he went on to attend Thames Valley State Technical College for 2 years and received his Associate Degree in Science and Electrical Engineering in June of 1981. Arthur then went to join the National Guard in 1981 and was honorably discharged in 1987.
He worked at Brownell and Company in Moodus, Conn. as Quality Control Manager from 1984 to 2004, then he moved to Berkeley Springs, where he worked at Caperton Furniture Works as a Woodcrafter from 2004 to 2021 while choosing an early retirement.
As a result of being a woodworker, Arthur enjoyed creating his own unique styles of chairs and even medicine cabinets. One of his most enjoyable hobbies was working on the computer since he was such a computer geek, he would create designs and shapes from mathematical equations and number scales. Arthur also loved science, sci-fi and longed to be able to go to space one day! He had such a unique sense of humor that his children and grandchildren were often joyfully entertained.
Arthur is survived by his wife of 29 years, Pamela Whittington Blomberg, their two children, Rachael Blomberg Neilson, and her husband, Kyle, Joseph Michael Blomberg, all of Berkeley Springs, three brothers, Terry, and James Blomberg of Connecticut, David Blomberg of Japan, along with their wives, two grandchildren, Alexander Davis Neilson, Lillian Rose Neilson and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Lillian Faith Neilson in February 2019.
A memorial service will be held at a later date. Burial will be private.
